Experience
I have worked with students from ages seven to 45 years old. I enjoy tutoring different subjects including writing, reading, math, history, religion, and literature. I also enjoy helping students prepare for their coursework and tests. Although I can tutor in all these different areas, my best subjects to teach are history and writing. When tutoring in history, I enjoy taking the historical event and placing it in chronological and cultural history to draw out what the world looks like today as opposed to what it looked like in the past. I enjoy tutoring writing because I believe that it is good for all different types of ambitions. I also like to help my students choose their own voice. I earned my BA in Religion at Columbia University. I have also started a Ph.D. in Sociology at USCD and am starting my fourth year in the program. During my Ph.D. studies, I also earned an MA in Sociology. For fun, you can find me staying active doing yoga; running; and playing tennis, racquetball, and other sports. I also enjoy sailing and cooking. Additionally, I like to do woodworking and enjoy making photo albums.
