Dear Potential Clients, My name is Michael Steinman and I am a postdoctoral researcher at the The Scripps Research Institute where I conduct studies aimed at gaining a better understanding of the neurobiology of drug and alcohol addiction. I love science and I am passionate about teaching it! I'm available to provide thorough, high quality help in learning the areas of physiology, biology, neuroscience and psychology all of which I have a strong background in. I appreciate that it is very stressful and intimidating when a student is struggling with keeping up with a class and I am always very happy to see students gain confidence and understanding and sometimes even start to enjoy the material that previously was a source of concern. I earned my Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology from the University of California, Davis in 2014. I have many years of experience with tutoring as well as TA-ing university level classes (including laboratory and discussion sections) and giving students one-on-one help they need. I have also served as a guest lecturer in a number of college courses as well as in high school. In addition, I have also mentored close to a dozen undergraduates who worked with me in a laboratory setting and seen many move on to medical, law and graduate school. I have a decade of experience working in behavioral neuroscience/endocrinology as a researcher I have seven first author publications in the field of neuroscience as well as five additional papers on which I am listed as an author.
